What services are offered at The Language Clinic?

The Language Clinic offers assessment and treatment of oral and written language disorders to a multi-cultural clientele.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

No, you do not need a referral from a doctor to get services in Speech-Language Therapy.

​

How much does a session cost?

Sessions last 45 minutes and cost $100 whether they are for assessments or treatment.

Will I get a receipt?

Receipts are systematically provided for all payments; your Speech-Language Therapist is a respected member of the OOAQ.

Are people with Down Syndrome welcome at The Language Clinic?

Yes, people with Down syndrome are actually prioritized at The Language Clinic so please mention "Down syndrome" when inscribing yourself to the waiting list.

What age groups are accepted at The Language Clinic?

There is no age limit at The Language Clinic.

Are reports from other clinics accepted?

Neuropsychology, psychology and speech-language therapy reports from other clinics are generally accepted.

Do I need an assessment?

If you do not have a recent assessment report, you will need to undergo the assessment process. Sessions cost $100/45min. The assessment process generally requires 4 sessions (4 x $100). The assessment report and intervention plan are included in the cost of your sessions. Please allow a delay of up to one month for report writing dating from your your last assessment session.​​

Is there a cancellation policy?

There is no cancellation policy at The Language Clinic; I understand children can fall ill overnight. Also, cancellation is mandatory if you are suffering from any respiratory illness or fever out of respect for all clients of The Language Clinic.

How do I get on the waiting list?

Please fill out the waiting list form on the Contact page.

How long is The Language Clinic's waiting list?

The Language Clinic's waiting list is approximately 3 months long. Your Speech-Language Therapist will contact you personally when she has an availability on her schedule. Meanwhile, please consult the Act now page.

What can I do while I wait for my first appointment?

As a talking, reading and writing adult, you possess all the basic tools you need to help your child while you wait for treatment at The Language Clinic:  please consult the Act now page.
